Chix&Mortar aims to provide people with the confidence to maintain and decorate their own homes. Fed up being dependent on tradesmen to address small household maintenance problems we wanted to learn and teach. Our houses are usually the most valuable possessions we have so we should be able to diagnose and correct common things that go wrong or need doing. We knew that many of these things are easy to do if someone would just show us how. So that's what Chix&Mortar set out to do.
Our courses will equip even the most reserved DIY'ers to tackle most DIY, maintenance and decorating jobs. The team also advise how to deal with and contract tradesmen to secure the most efficient outcome.
One or two day courses can be booked and bespoke courses can also be run (eg. for a group of friends, hen parties, stag parties or business team-building exercises). We also try to accomodate specific tasks that individuals on the course want to master.
All tutors are tradesmen and teach in classroom style for some tasks and on a one on one basis for other tasks.
Chix&Mortar helps women to maintain and decorate their houses and to understand DIY products. While the courses are designed around the specified needs of women, men and couples also attend too.
